On the technical side, this series helped me explore vertical structure, balance, and composition. Perhaps the most exciting part for me in that process was when the piece was ready for final “canting” and I removed as many supporting structures as possible to create an open falling profile. I was more interested in the root-like structures to create interconnected and mutually supporting coils.
